(Yes that is a pic of me and my Mum on my (OUR, sorry) wedding day 🥰 - snapped by Ross Alexander Photography)
I always take ages deciding what to write in cards. 'To Mum, Love Clare x' works fine, but I've always wanted to take time to write a proper message.
If you're the same, I've tried to help you out by writing some poems, to hopefully put into words what you'd like to say.
In preparation for Mother's Day on Sunday 30th March, I've gathered a collection of them together that would be perfect for gifting to your Mum.
I've printed them onto thick, textured card, and they all come with an envelope - so you can handwrite your personal message onto the back, or pop it straight into a frame ✨
So here they are - you can read and order them by clicking on each title, and they're also available as digital downloads, if you're running out of time, or are working to a smaller budget ✨
✨ A polite reminder that I wrote all of these poems myself - I've unfortunately found several people selling them online as their own work, but this is in direct breach of copyright law. ✨
💐 Poem for Mum 💐
"You picked me up when I was small and held me when I cried,
And after all the trips and falls were always by my side"
I originally wriote this as a Mother's Day Poem, but it's versatile enough to be given to your Mum any time - whether it's Mother's Day, her birthday, your wedding day, or just because ♥️
💐 Will you be my something blue? 💐
"Lots to sort before 'I do',
So I might need some help from you"
I love this take on the tradition of finding something blue for your wedding day - it's such a lovely way of including more loved ones into your celebrations.
Ask your Mum to wear or bring something blue on the day - it could he her dress, her shoes, her bag or even just a small piece of jewellery 💙
This is one of my favourite poems, and has also been an Etsy Bestseller for months 🥰
💐 Thank you for being my birth partner 💐
"You've taught me so much and I hope that one day,
My baby will love me the very same way"
If your Mum was by your side while you were giving birth, this is a small way to acknowledge how much you appreciated her being there with you ♥️
And I know relationships aren's always as 'linear' as calling someone Mum - so I've written another version of this poem that you can give to anyone - whether it's a stepparent, a friend, a partner or any parental figure in your life who was there for you ♥️
💐 Will you sign our register/be our witness? 💐
"We'd love if you would be a part
Of what will be the very start"
Another way to involve Mum on your wedding day is asking her to sign your official wedding register ✨
Again, I've written it in a way that means you can gift it to anyone in your life - so if you'd like your Gran to be your witness, this would make an ideal Mother's Day surprise for her 🥰
If you're lucky enough to have your Mum and Mother-in-law-to-be around, then you can ask them both on Mother's Day - this poem in a frame and a bunch of flowers for them both, and you're sorted 💐
💐 Will you do a reading? 💐
"Right before we say 'I do' there'll be some things to say
And we would love it if you have a bigger part to play..."
Another great way of getting your Mum more involved in your wedding day is to ask her to do a reading during your ceremony ♥️
And if you'd like her to read out something extra special, I can write you something from scratch that's fully personalised to you and your husband- or wife-to-be 🙌🏼

💐 Will you walk me down the aisle? 💐
"I love you lots and hope you say you'll grant one of my wishes
And walk with me the last few steps before I'm made a Mrs..."
Another Etsy Bestseller for me, and one I'm really proud of.
I wrote this one after feeling that all the 'Will you walk me down the aisle?' proposal gifts and cards I could find were mainly aimed at Dads.
But for so many reasons, people may not be asking Dad to walk them down the aisle - so I wrote this in a way that meant you could gift it to anyone in your life.
Pop it in a double frame with a picture of you and your Mum together when you were younger, and she can enjoy looking at it all year round 🥰
It's available in ivory, blush, blue and sage.
